Babies, children and young people
Children and young people are valued members of our church community. They also have their own activities (see below). Child protection and safety is of utmost importance to the Parish and policies and procedures are in place for the protection of all children. Visit the Notice Board for special events.
Baby & Toddler Time for Mum's and Dad's and their little ones, every Monday (except Bank Holidays) in the Parish Rooms (entrance Parish Office at the Rectory) 10.30am-12noon.
Story Time for pre-school children and their parents / carers. Enjoy a story, singing and playing in a friendly atmosphere. Drink and cake provided. We meet on alternate Thursdays 2-3pm during school term time in the pavilions at St Andrew’s Church. Please contact the Parish Office for more information.
Children's Church meets on Sundays during the 10am service in the pavilions at St Andrew's (except third Sunday's which are the All Age Worship service). Children are welcome to stay in the main service but under 14s are also invited to join the Children's Church. We all begin the service in church together with a hymn. Then the children and leaders gather in the pavilions where we sing, pray and learn from the Bible. Each week we finish in time to rejoin the service for Communion. On the 3rd Sunday of each month we stay in the main part of the Church for the All Age Worship service. If you are interested in helping with Children's Church please contact the Parish Office.
Sunday service creche There is a staffed creche in the pavillions in the back of the church every Sunday during the main 10am Parish Communion Service. You may take your child there at any point in the service but please collect them before you receive Communion. On 3rd Sundays, it is an All Age service, so do still feel free to use the creche room for very young children and babies, but please note you will need to stay with them as there is no 'official' creche during these services. Baby changing facilities are in the toilet off St George's Chapel up on the left side of the church just past the organ.
7-up youth group for children aged 11-14. We meet monthly on Saturdays or Sundays for food and social events.
Early Communion Preparation (ages 7+) Each year our young people have the opportunity to join an early communion group to learn more about being a Christian. To learn more please ring the Parish Office.
School visits If you would like to visit St Andrew's Church, please contact the Parish Office for more information. |
